Asian American Day
Asian American Day
Greater Boston’s largest outdoor Asian cultural celebration, held on Boston Common on the first or second Saturday of September.
Asian American Day is the largest outdoor cultural celebration of Asian Americans in Greater Boston. Hosted by the Asian American Association of Boston, it takes place on the first or second Saturday of September each year on Boston Common.
On September 10, 2016, the festival made its debut at Boston Common. Governor Charles Baker and Mayor Marty Walsh officially designated the second Saturday of September each year as “Asian American Day” for Massachusetts and Boston.
Every year AADay has established over 80 on-site booths from nonprofit organizations and local businesses. We have received significant praise and support from Asian American businesses, artists, and residents in Boston and surrounding Massachusetts areas, as well as strong support from Massachusetts State Senators, the Boston City Council, the Boston Common Management Office, the Police Department, and the Fire Department.
Today, the Asian American Day Festival has become one of AAAB’s key initiatives. We will continue to develop it as a high-quality platform for exchange among local communities, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
